The board of Transport2 has announced that its founder and CEO, Mathew Hassell, is to step down with immediate effect, after completing the establishment of its new brands Kura Education and Kura Corporate. These two technology-led offers will form a new, strategic focus for the business.
Kura Education, which won Management Today’s 2020 NextGen Business of the Year Award, has already successfully established itself in the education sector. The business tracks over 300 home-to-school routes daily, providing services for over 7,000 pupils. Transport2 has also successfully responded to current needs for safer business transport for workers, offering safe, socially-distanced solutions for employers.
Richard Woods, chief operating officer of Transport2, said, “Mathew has led the transformation of the business after its foundation in 2011, and it is now ideally placed to expand its innovative solutions into the education and corporate markets. On behalf of the senior leadership team, I’d like to thank Mathew for his passion and vision. We wish him all the best for the future.”
The company is in the process of recruiting a new CEO and expects to make an announcement in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the senior leadership team, Richard Woods (COO), Neil Stockton (CFO) and Shaun Gabriel (CTO) will continue running the business, supported by Chairman, Andrew Hall.
